Vets4Pets – job opportunities in UK

Who are Vets4Pets?

We are a large Veterinary group in the UK with a national network of small animal veterinary practices. We are part of the Pets At Home Vet Group and have two brands – Vets4Pets and Companion Care vets. Our pets and clients are at the very heart of everything we do and we are proud to deliver the highest standards of veterinary healthcare for all of our clients and their pets.  We encourage preventative healthcare to our clients with our wide portfolio of healthcare plans tailored to their pets’ needs as well as actively promoting pet insurance in conjunction with our partner, PetPlan.

Our opportunities

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive vets who are passionate about animal wellbeing and healthcare, and passionate about delivering an outstanding service for patients and clients alike.  If you would like to work in the UK there are two routes that you can follow with Vets4Pets.

Are you an experienced vet who has often thought about moving to the UK to practise veterinary medicine?  If you are fluent in English, confident with the clinical and surgical aspects of the role and confident working as sole charge, we’d love to hear from you.  Send a copy of your CV to international@vets4pets.com and we’ll be in touch very soon.

If you are a vet that has worked outside of the industry for some time and would like to return, or, a newly qualified vet who needs to develop practical skills and experience, we have a programme that could work for you; our International Vet Programme.

Programme details

Our International Vet Programme is available to vets that have qualified outside of the UK and provides a structured, developmental route to becoming a confident and successful vet. The programme will run for a period of 3-12 months (depending upon your individual needs) and provides you with the opportunity to build your clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in a first opinion small animal practice, in the UK.

Covering all aspects of life in practice, the programme is hands-on, giving you the opportunity to interact with clients, conduct routine health appointments, build upon your surgical skills and create your own client base.

You will be assigned a senior Vet who will act as your mentor and will provide support throughout the duration of your programme. Within the first month you’ll receive a tailored, structured development plan focusing on the three key areas: consultation sign off, surgery expectations and surgical sign off.

We offer a competitive salary of £22,500 whilst on the programme and upon successful completion you will be eligible to apply for a permanent position in any of our practices across the UK, or you may get the opportunity to stay in the practice where you completed programme.

Ideally you will be experienced in carrying out basic surgical procedures, administering anaesthesia and conducting routine health checks and vaccinations. You will be a vet who recognises the importance of continuous professional development; someone who uses every available opportunity to strengthen your practical skills and experience.

To join the programme you must:

  • Hold a relevant veterinary degree
  • Be eligible to register with the RCVS, or already be a member.
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be able to communicate fluently in English.

To make an application please send your CV to international@vets4pets.comWe are looking forward to hearing from you.
